I use the phrase "canoe tripping" to describe the canoe-equivalent of backpacking. "canoe camping" to me sounds static, like "car camping". I'm relatively new, so I'm not certain of the protocol for changing a name or adding a redirect, but I'll throw this idea out there for people to think about. -- BlueCanoe on 1/4/05.

You may be right, but the first image that came to my mind when you said "canoe tripping" was a person sitting in a canoe in the middle of a lake and smoking a joint. There's certainly no approval process for adding Wikipedia:redirects. I'm also pretty sure that there isn't one for moving pages, either. However, I think that this page should stay right where it is. I just ran a Google test, which indicates that 'canoe camping' is used about three times as often as 'canoe touring' and 'canoe tripping' combined. --Smack (talk) 01:54, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)
