Ukraine

Surely the stuff added on Ukraine is speculation and violates normal wikipedia rules Julian Tuson (talk) 13:00, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection

[edit]

Just to let you know I just semi-protected the article due to continuous vandalisms and errors (especially related to him being still in charge, despite having tended his resignations to the Italian President), all coming mainly from IP users. This is set to expire in seven days. --Angelo (talk) 01:54, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

resignation

[edit]

In the introduction, this sentence is inaccurate, as far as I understand it, although more information will be available today as Napolitano is due to announce his decision on the crisis.

"On 24 January 2008, he resigned as prime minister, but the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano rejected his resignation. this led to a new vote of confidence which he won in both houses."

"He consequently tendered his resignation as Prime Minister to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, who will defer a decision on acceptance of the resignation pending consultations with all the political forces in the Parliament."

I think this statement is more accurate. I have heard nothing about him winning a second vote of confidence (the first one he lost in the Senate). Possibly a current event tag would be in order too. Stanlavisbad (talk) 09:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is Marini technically already PM, or only after he wins a vote of confidence?

[edit]

An anon has updated list of prime ministers of Italy to say that Prodi's term has ended today (30 Jan) and Marini's has begun. Is that accurate? I don't know enough about Italian constitutional law to know whether the President of the Republic's nomination is (technically) immediately effective, or whether it takes effect only after winning a vote of confidence. --Trovatore (talk) 22:25, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is not PM, he has no right to start a Government until he appoints his Ministers and wins a vote of confidence in both Chambers. --Angelo (talk) 00:11, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed with Angelo. I'm going to revert the article to reflect this. --Tsk070 (talk) 05:19, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Someone needs to add him back to the G8 leaders box, I'm not sure how to do this--RedMe (talk) 10:59, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prodi a former KGB agent / FSB

[edit]

That Prodi is accused of being a former KGB agent is very well sourced...on Wikipedia! But not where it needs to be, in the Prodi article. See the Gerard Batten article, Litvinenko and Prodi subsection. Three separate references, incl BBC& ITN. Handy for Prodi that Litvinenko was assassinated, eh? This really should be in *this* article. Boscaswell talk 21:51, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
