Removal of individual members' infoboxes

[edit]

Hi all,

I have removed the individual members' infoboxes from the main page (in the biographies section for the following members: Astro, Duncan Campbell, Earl Falconer, and Norman Hassan). The reason for this is as follows: these infoboxes were a hangover from the merger of their individual pages with the main UB40 page in 2016 (as per the discussion topic 'Merger proposals' on this page), and given the lack of information on the individual members' (which was what led to the merger of their pages with the main page in the first instance) these infoboxes are surplus to requirements. All of the information found in them is listed elsewhere on the page: their birthnames, birth dates, place of birth are featured in the written content of their biography, their genre is all cases is given as 'reggae' which is UB40's principle genre, their occupation is given as 'musician' which goes without saying, their instrumentation is already listed in the personnel section of the page, their years of activity are identical to the band's (except in Duncan Campbell's case, where his years of activity are given as the year's he joined and left the band), and their associated acts are given as 'UB40' or, in Astro's case, both UB40's.

Kind regards, Sburbridge92 (talk) 14:34, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Entirely agree - I don't think any of them are individually notable outside of UB40, and there's no need for them.to have their own sections that are just sources from the band's own website anyway. Richard3120 (talk) 14:51, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Big Love by Ali Campbell

[edit]

I've just created a basic article for Ali Campbell's 1995 album Big Love if any UB40 fans or contributors want to improve it or add any further info! --Geach (talk) 19:34, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
