hello Who named the paintings and how were they framed?

Shouldn't Morris Louis show up in the various categories under Louis, not Bernstein, as that is how he is commonly known? (I didn't even know that his last name was Bernstein unil I read this piece, and I've spent plenty of time staring at his paintings.) cbustapeck 20:08, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. One may wish that he hadn't dropped his last name, but in fact he did. It is as "Morris Louis" that he is almost exclusively known, exhibited, and listed. IMO, the primary page for this artist should be 'Morris Louis', with 'Morris Louis Bernstein' as a redirect page. MdArtLover 00:05, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was a heavy smoker and some of the public pictures of him show him with a cigarette. If the speculative assertion that his lung cancer was caused by paint fumes is allowed, should not his smoking also be included? The site that makes the paint fume association offers no evidence to back up their claim, yet there is much evidence in the public domain that smoking causes lung cancer.
