Right of way

Right of way (also right-of-way) is (a) a right of easement, i.e. an easement, specifically for passage purposes, such as for a railroad, pipelines, pedestrians, vehicles, aqueducts, etc., (b) rules that govern the movement of people and traffic on roads, paths, trails, air, and water, and (c) the land on which an easement crosses.
