He's either The Quarrelsome or The Wrangler. Mst of Hungarian sources reference him as the former, most of the genealogy online (including the one covering pretty much everyone in or connected to the royal english families) as the latter. Anyone been there and met him personally? :-)

I am pretty confused. this geneweb refers Henri II le Querelleur who has:

  1. a child called Henri II le Saint (973-1024)
  2. have a daddy called Henri I von Sachsen and a granddaddy called Henri I l'Oiseleur von Sachsen

Seems that Henries didn't care much about who's who. We have two Henry of nearly all numbers. Anyone with serious historical background could shed some light on this? --grin 19:09, 10 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Henri le Querelleur was Henry II, Duke of Bavaria, called either the Quarrelsome or the Wrangler. His father was Henry I, Duke of Bavaria, not Henry I, Duke of Saxony, who was the same person as Henri l'Oiseleur, that is, Henry the Fowler, the first Saxon king of Germany. Henry the Fowler (l'Oiseleur) was indeed Henry II's grandfather, the father of Henry I. Henry II's son was Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor, also Henry IV, Duke of Bavaria, and called either the Saint or the Holy. Srnec 03:15, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cause and location of death?

[edit]

It would improve the article if the cause and location of his death was included in the article. BTW, this is a very interesting article and would be greatly improved if there were some sources or references. But, yes I could and should do some research myself -- right? What a name for a Duke of Bavaria, Henry the Wrangler!--TGC55 (talk) 01:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not Henry

[edit]

The person's name was "Heinrich", not "Henry"...Presidentbalut (talk) 21:48, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Good thing, you're hear to set the record straight. I wonder why no one noticed this obvious error before. Or maybe someone needs to look at a few wikipedia policies. (just to note, I actually answer his concern with the appropriate policy info on three other talk pages. He decided to spam a dozen or so of them with the same basic statement.)
