Welcome

[edit]

Hello Mydemand, welcome to Wikipedia.

You might find these links helpful in editing pages or creating new ones: Tutorial, How to edit a page, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should probably read our policies at some point too.

But don't feel you have to read every policy document before you do anything. Dive in, be bold in editing, and if you do anything wrong, someone will be quick to correct it and let you know (hopefully, politely!)

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! -- ALargeElk | Talk 11:07, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)

p.s. What is your demand? ;-)

Up with People

[edit]

Hey there. I was heavily involved with them in the late 60s and my twin brother was a drummer for Cast A. Small world! Who do you know that was involved? You too young to have been a member, right?

I am actually a member! They restarted in 2004 as WorldSmart and I travelled with them in Fall 2005. They restarted AGAIN in 2006 as UWP and are travelling now.

I know so many people, mainly from the 90s, though some late 80s folk I know of too - I was part of the UWP Premiere in Denver earlier this year and met up with plenty of alumni. I'm also on the UWPIAA BOG.

Hear from you soon! - Mydemand 12:45, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject LGBT studies

[edit]

Hello! I noticed that your userpage mentions that you are interested in LGBT issues. Would you be interested in joining WikiProject LGBT studies? The WikiProject's been a bit inactive recently and some of us are trying to get it going again. We'd love to have you on board! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:30, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Smail mail / LMAOs

[edit]

Hi Tiara, it's nice to meet a Malaysian here on English Wikipedia! I see you added information about mail art and LMAOs to the page snail mail. There is now a longer article on mail art and I think most of the info you added should be moved there. Would you like to do it yourself? Regards, Fayenatic london 18:49, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I fixed the rest of your userboxes! Happy New Year! Fayenatic london

Hi again! No, I'm not on LJ (but I have a daughter who is!). There are lots of Fayenatics... I have family in M'sia, and first heard Faye on TV2 there in 1995. Cheers! Fayenatic london

Finally got round to this little task! - Fayenatic london (talk) 11:23, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:B-i3.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:B-i3.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. - Tragic Baboon (banana receptacle) 03:31, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

when you say "(note from Mydemand: I am the webmistress of AshaGill.Com and a friend of Asha's - she has allowed use of these photos as long as they are credited to Tag Heuer and AshaGill.Com.)" do you mean they can be used that way on site or just wikipedia. Also what about modifications are they allowed?Geni 01:19, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File:Asha Gill.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:27, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Asha Gill.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Asha Gill.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:26, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Asha Gill for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Asha Gill is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asha Gill until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — JFG talk 17:34, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
