Category:Jewish mythology and Category:Jewish history

[edit]

Category:Jewish mythology is now part of the sub-category Category:Jewish history

Please note that it can happen that some entries that appear on this page may show up because someone on another page has decided to connect to the topic of this page. A case in point is "Allah" under "A", that has nothing to with Jews or Judaism from a Jewish perspective. It is a subject relating to the origins of how God's name is is used elsewhere and not by Jews or Judaism anywhere at all.

Right-Hand Path

[edit]

IZAK, if you don't know what the Right-Hand Path is, you oughtn't remove the categorization. Left-Hand Path and Right-Hand Path are fairly old terms. See Category:Right-Hand Path for other religions on that path. --Eequor 23:20, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • Eequor:I don't know what planet you live on, but in all my years of academic and religious studies and research I have NEVER come across this term. The terms you use may be old, but they are NOT common knowledge or usage at all! Judaism is not a "sub-category" of right of left anything and it is also not a subcategory of "pantheism" or "panentheism". IZAK 19:47, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Skewed Set-Up

[edit]

Category:Judaism should be the central Jewish category with everything stemming off from there. Its a tree - i.e. supercategory religions, which includes Judaism, and then everything branches off from Judaism. "Judaism" does not branch off from Jewish Studies in Academia - it is exactly the reverse. I have made some changes which I felt were necessary and have slightly improved this muddled situation. Many thanks, Nesher 21:21, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And I've reverted. See Category talk:Jews and Judaism. People are still Jews that are not observant. The changes you made are very Orthodox centric.
--William Allen Simpson 01:25, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with User:William Allen Simpson, since Wikipedia is not "Orthodox Wikipedia", it is far more inclusive of all knowledge and information. There are other ways to convey the Orthodox Torah world-view and User:Nesher needs to learn how that is done on the English Wikipedia. IZAK 04:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jewish Writers?

[edit]

Is there a category currently set up for Jewish writers anywhere? If there isn't adding one might not be a bad idea.--United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 04:47, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Such as, say, Category:Jewish writers? ;-) --Eliyak T·C 15:53, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
