Nervous systems- requested edit

[edit]

Can someone smarter than me add at the beginning of the article: "This article is about the nervous systems of tetrapods. For the nervous systems of other animals, see Evolution of nervous systems." I keep trying, but I screw up the formatting. Thanks! Edgar Vekilnik, Jr. (talk) 16:03, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Edgar - the article is about the nervous system in general. Paragraph 4 of the lead and a whole section "Comparative anatomy and evolution" addresses other organisms. Iztwoz (talk) 16:18, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Enteric not separate

[edit]

"The PNS is divided into three separate subsystems, the somatic, autonomic, and enteric nervous systems." The autonomic nervous system contains the enteric nervous system, so they cannot be called separate subsystems. The PNS Wikipedia page is consistent with this as well. Would anyone take issue with it being changed to "The PNS is divided into two separate subsystems, the somatic and autonomic nervous systems."? @Reasoned Inquiry done. Someone must have confused PNS with ANS. Tobiasi0 (talk) 06:49, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox image

[edit]

Hello together

I've identified two similar images that could potentially be suitable for the infobox of this article. The first one is the current File:TE-Nervous system diagram.svg (1), and the other is File:Nervous system diagram-en.svg (2). Personally, I'm still unsure which one is more suitable – number 2 shows the body from the anterior view, while number 1 depicts it from the posterior view. Number 2 is more detailed, but perhaps a little too detailed? They both depict the nervous system quite clear, but let me know what you think. Tobiasi0 (talk) 07:18, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
