This article has some POV problems.--Lucky13pjn 22:16, Jun 26, 2004 (UTC)

Someone added a link to a community and commercial site. But, actually, it was a purely commercial list of local businesses, with no community content whatsoever. So I removed it from this page, and the two other pages where it was put. -- Geo Swan 14:43, 2005 May 8 (UTC)

Mimico Mice

[edit]

I'm wondering if someone would like to add (or would allow me to add) that the old comedy team, Wayne & Shuster, used to do a bit in their act about a fictitious hockey team known as the Mimico Mice. Marty55 19:46, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The current map seems to show the western boundary of Mimico about 2 km west of the real boundary. Geo Swan (talk) 18:37, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I like the expanded content in the History section, but it really needs citations. After the second paragraph, it really drops off. There are editors on Wikipedia that will simply cut that section. There are also concerns about copyright infringement. Alaney2k (talk) 19:32, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on it

[edit]

Thanks for the compliment on the history section, I still think of myself as new to Wikipedia and I'm still very much learning this system. There's only so much you can do for a volunteer project like this but I hope at least a lot of what I added will survive editing; Mimico is my own neighbourhood. I welcome anyone who can help me improve this and I'll add sources as quickly as I can in my spare time! Do any possible copyright infringements apply to the text (which is all actually written by myself but I believe can all be references to publish material) or is it some of the old photographs which I'll admit I don't entirely understand the rules about? JosephIWMolto (talk) 17:32, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

old photographs before 1949 are all public-domain. All public-domain photos should be uploaded to Wiki Commons. It is always easier to put in citations as you go. About the references, just put the books in the References section in a list, and refer to them in the paragraphs above, with the page noted. One citation per paragraph is the basic minimum for 'good articles'. The main point about copyright infringement is that if you don't put in citations, an editor has an extra impetus to remove content to be sure. Alaney2k (talk) 05:15, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Now just to find a copy of 'The Mimico Story' for page numbers (every time I've been to the library they've all been out, perhaps I've generated too much interest!) JosephIWMolto (talk) 17:21, 11 February 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.253.57.41 (talk) [reply]

Time Capsule buried in John English school yard?

[edit]

I grew up in Mimico and went to school at John English Junior Middle school in the mid 80s. I recall there being a time capsule buried in the school yard grass. Can you find out if this has ever been dug up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.33.176.151 (talk) 02:22, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
