Wondering

[edit]

Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Rambot (talkcontribs) 21:31, 26 July 2003 (UTC)[reply]

Possible merger?

[edit]

I would be interested in seeing some discussion of whether the subject of merging Alpine with another county has ever been considered. Alpine has such a small population that the per capita cost of running the county government must be high. Of course, territoriality probably plays a strong role in county residents resisting the idea of merging with another county. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.166.18.236 (talk) 00:14, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No incorporated cities?

[edit]

The Atlas of California (p. 17) states that Markleeville was incorporated in 1864, although it is "inactive". --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 21:47, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
