Wondering how to edit this State Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. states standards might help.

[edit]

I noticed the following error. Now, it's fairly easy to fix the link to Treaty of Fontainebleau (1762). But, I wasn't sure the reason why 1763 is displayed in visible text (using a pipe), when 1762 is in the title of the target.

The rest of Louisiana became a colony of Spain after the Seven Years' War by the Treaty of Fontainebleau of 1763.

Nonsensical sentence

[edit]

Last sentence in the lead: "It also has had the highest in the United States since at least the 1990s." This makes no sense: the highest what? (Apparently, at some point in the past it used to read "It also has had the highest homicide rate in the United States since at least the 1990s" but this was removed I guess in this complex edit. -- 2001:16B8:1408:9600:1462:8C94:82E1:5858 (talk) 18:09, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Creole Bias

[edit]

As a person living in Louisiana myself this is very maddening Creole is a small subgroup of the major Cajun group also Acadian's are not our ancestors we are Acadian this it's stupid to separate us also Cajuns are considered a unique ethnicity as decided in "Roach v. Dresser Ind. Valve & Instrument Division, 494 F. Supp. 215 (W.D. La. 1980)" Cajuns have a population of 1.2 million as decided by the 2010 census Louisiana has a total population of 4.624 million this article is actively spreading misinformation about a MASSIVE 25% of the population in Louisiana. The difference between Cajuns and Creoles is the simple fact that one is black and one is white. Creole is also a wide generalization not even given by them onto themselves Creole was originally used in the 16th century to refer to all people born outside of Spain/Portugal inside of the Spanish or Portuguese empire who was "of African ,Spanish ,or Portuguese descent. This means that almost everyone in South America all the way up to Mexico can (and in some cases is see) considered Creole. In this African Americans CAN be considered Creole but due to "gang culture" most African Americans consider themselves and I quote "black" this is how we should refer to them. Most of the time unless from rare case of descending from that of their former master "Creoles" do not have any Cajun blood at all so I formerly said they are a subgroup well let me say why. "Creoles" or as they like to be called (mostly) blacks like to eat the same as Cajuns with the twist that they add tomato paste to everything (I mean everything) that is their only connection to Cajuns besides Jazz and Zydeco. Sorry for the several grammatical errors aswell I made this while on my laptop so it's kinda hard to type. Samestillnotinsane (talk) 02:57, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also I forgot to specify that in "Roach v. Dresser Ind. Valve & Instrument Division, 494 F. Supp. 215 (W.D. La. 1980)" Acadian and Cajun were legally classified as the same ethnicity. Samestillnotinsane (talk) 03:01, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
