Education in Benson

[edit]

I know for a fact that there is more to Benson's education than the World University (or whatever it is). In fact, here is a link to its' schools: Benson Elementary, Middle, and High Schools[1] and San Pedro Valley High School[2] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.214.185.13 (talk) 03:45, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Geography

[edit]

The census is stating that there is no water in Benson, although the San Pedro River nearby has been running for over a year straight (A strange anomaly for this river/wash). I cannot find a source stating this or a map of Benson territory to confirm that the San Pedro River is part of Benson, Arizona. 12.197.112.117 (talk) 01:41, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a detailed Census Bureau map; it shows streams, but they appear to be intermittent, so I'd guess that this definition only includes areas always covered by water. Nyttend (talk) 02:08, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gate way to Kartchner caverns?

[edit]

I move that the line: "best known as the gateway to Kartchner Caverns" be removed. Benson and surrounding are had been there long before Kartchner Caverns' public knowledge (1988). It is Best know for its gateway to St. Davids and Tombstone AZ (been there since before 1880). It is also on the road to Apache Nitrogen products (prev. Apache Powder Co.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.231.189.108 (talk) 00:31, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nooo... it's worldwide fame is surely due to the the theme tune "Benson Arizona" from John Carpenter's film Dark Star. That's why I sought out the entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.77.148.133 (talk) 05:41, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
