An online comic at www.nukees.com had Nuclear Engineering students eluded to Cal having a reactor. Is this true, or just a joke?--Commander Keane 15:13, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

There used to be a reactor in the space under Etcheverry and Soda, but that was dismantled a long time ago, as Berkeley is now a nuclear free zone. - mako 10:51, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Berkeley's status as a nuclear free zone had no direct bearing on the reactor. the ordinance has no say over UC, or the national laboratories in Berkeley. some slight influence, perhaps.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 21:58, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
