Thanks for the Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera info! I've been working away to preserve some sense of the marque's end here, and welcome a fellow contributor! --SFoskett 17:03, Jan 22, 2005 (UTC)

Image copyrights

[edit]

You have uploaded two images to Wikipedia, Image:AmershamOutside.jpg and Image:AmershamSign.jpg, but you haven't put the image copyright status or permission to their image description pages. You have to do so. Such images may be copyright infringements, and can be deleted from Wikipedia in the future. So what do you know about them? Who took them? Do you have any special permission, or do you even remember, where you found them? Put the backgrouds you know to the image description page. You can also use image copyright tags. It is useful to read the Copyright FAQ of Wikipedia. -Hapsiainen 14:33, Mar 25, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. I marked them as licenced under GFDL. I concluded it from the Wikipedia upload page. It has a message: "If you upload a file here to which you hold the copyright, you must license it under the GNU Free Documentation License or release it into the public domain." -Hapsiainen 17:42, August 30, 2005 (UTC)
Years ago you uploaded three other images without the author info, Image:BayswaterOutside.jpg, Image:BayswaterInside1.jpg, and Image:BayswaterInside2.jpg. You should also mention their author(s) in their description pages. -Hapsiainen 14:24, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Antigua and Duran Duran

[edit]

I reverted your change at music of Antigua and Barbuda because I don't see the relevance of Duran Duran shooting videos there. As a similar example, consider a hypothetical movie shot on Antigua -- would that be appropriate for a cinema of Antigua and Barbuda article? If Duran Duran were especially popular on Antigua, it could be interesting info, but just shooting videos there is not relevant to the subject. Tuf-Kat 22:40, Apr 4, 2005 (UTC)

Dealing with quotation marks varies from country to country. The main (though not only) U.S. approach is to place all punctuation inside the inverted commas; the U.K. approach (and the approach taken by many in North America too) is to place punctuation within quotation marks if it's part of what's being quoted, outside if it isn't. That is also the approach adopted by the Wikipedia:Manual of style. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 13:46, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Survey Invitation

[edit]

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 01:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me[reply]

Re : London Square Mall

[edit]

You can always check my contribs for a list of articles I have written. Keeping Wikipedia as a 'a tremendous source of trivia' rather than a coherent, verifiable prose of facts will only further hurt Wikipedia's credibility as an encyclopedia, which have come under a lot of fire in the recent times. - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 10:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CompleteBitchesBrewBoxSetReissue.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CompleteBitchesBrewBoxSetReissue.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:35, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Globe199,

I have reverted some of your edits to US national parks and other protected areas which involved replacing metric conversions of US customary units with redundant unit conversions and also linking dates. Please refrain from removing metric conversions as they are recommended in MOS:CONVERSIONS and are desirable to aid understanding for readers outside the US. Linking dates for autoformatting purposes has been deprecated in MOS:UNLINKDATES and is no longer recommended. Please don't add date autoformat links to articles. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
