Husband

[edit]

When naming her husband, George Catlin, the link must be to the wrong George Catlin. It's beyond my Wikipedia abilities to sort this out properly so I'll merely remove the link. The article on Bernard Williams says Vera Brittain married the "American political scientist and philosopher Sir George Catlin". Thincat 10:05, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Vera Brittain's husband was George Edward Gordon Catlin (b 1896), always known simply as Gordon Catlin. As far as I am aware he was actually English but taught at Cornell University in the USA (where he became a Professor) through most of the 1920s and 1930s, which is where the confusion probably stems from. Found him! George Catlin (political scientist). I'll put the link in the article. --Habap 22:00, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Odd. It's already there. Has been for a while. --Habap 22:03, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

this seems a bit confused

"She was vilified by speaking out against saturation bombing of German cities, although solace was obtained in 1945 when the Nazi Germany blacklist of people living in the United Kingdom to be immediately arrested after a German invasion included her name."

Televised Biography

There was a multi-part biography on PBS several years ago. TRIKER 14:14, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Dark Tide

The link to her first novel redirects to a novel of the same name by Dennis L. McKiernan. 204.187.154.49 (talk) 23:29, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
