Commented-out sub-headings

[edit]

Just came across a weird one. If you go to the article Age of Apocalypse, you will see that it is broken up into a number of subections: "Storyline", "Characters and affiliations", and "External Links". But if you click on the individual Edit button to edit the "Characters and affiliations", you get a funny little subsection entitled "Comics". A quick check of the entire article edit reveals that this whole subsection is commented out using HTML <!-- --> comments - but the individual Edit links are missing this fact, so the &Section=number part of the edit link is pointing to the wrong place. So, is the Village Pump the right place for a bug report like this? --Stormie 04:23, Apr 7, 2004 (UTC)

No, check the intro:
However, I think this is a known bug, so no harm done. Dysprosia 05:55, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for that.. although I couldn't see anything like it in the buglist on Sourceforge, so I logged it there. --Stormie 07:10, Apr 7, 2004 (UTC)
The trick to make it work is to make sure the heading does not start the line anymore, as that seems to be what the wiki engine is parsing. Thus if the commented area starts like the following (without any linebreak in between) it works again. And I fixed the article accordingly already.andy 07:32, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
<!--===Disabled subsection-->
Note that even just a space is enough, so if a whole block is commented, you can put " ==Dis'd Hdr==" within that block and it won't break. - IMSoP 16:17, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Tenth Ann. section

[edit]

I removed the "Also" at the beginning of the note about the X-Men Legends 2 game. Proper sentence structure doesn't start with "also"'s or "but"'s.

Continuity

[edit]

Marvel Universe calls this a seperate continuity from Earth-616. If this is the case, then it should be made a bit clearer in the intro. I did a quick scan of the page, and couldn't see where it explained it's continuity status. If this isn't the case, can it please be removed from the continuity section in the Marvel Universe page? That section appears to imply each article it links to is a seperate continuity from Earth-616.

-Earth-616 is replaced with this continuity, then after the story ends, reverts back to the original with some lasting changes as a result. When the anniversary series was released, the status was changed for the sake of milking the property. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.85.67.50 (talk) 18:01, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Read Order

[edit]

I uploaded the suggested chronological read order for the first series, however, the list is quite long and suggestions for another way to display the read order would be appreciated.

Psuedonym 15:31, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the read order to the bottom, just before External links, to make the article as a whole more readable. I also think the title of subtopic should be changed from "Read Order". I think something along the lines of "Chronology" would be better, though I'm not sure that specifically is appropriate (hence no change). LazerBeem 08:28, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If this is a pain in the ass, please feel free to remove all my edits. I tend to edit as I work for wording and stuff. Here's some of the major changes.

  • In the comic box I replaced listing each issue with a link to the list near the bottom of the page
  • Changed entire article to present tense (I believe this is how you refer to things in print)
  • Biggest edit is I started putting members in tables, but I couldn't complete it. I plan on continuing it later. Feel free to do this for me, or revert to the last saved version if you don't like it. --Torourkeus 21:55, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The storyline needs to be finished but I don't know enough! --Torourkeus 07:07, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AoApocbattlemagnes.png

[edit]

Image:AoApocbattlemagnes.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Complete Age of Apocalypse

[edit]

Would it be worth adding an addendum to the article about the AoA trade paper backs, and the issues they collect? Cyclonius (talk) 17:59, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

X-Men Evolution section

[edit]

I tweaked this section a bit. Some of the spelling was off, and one of the sentences didn't make any sense. I didn't change much, because I have not seen the episodes in question. One of the statements made was that "he" saw a vision of the future though the eyes of Apocalypse, but nowhere in the paragraph did the original author bother to state who "he" was. As such, I re-wrote the sentence to preserve the basic information, but still make sense. If someone knows who "he" was supposed to be, you should certainly make the appropriate changes. It still doesn't read very well, but without having viewed the storyline in question, I'm hardly the one to fix it properly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.245.138.178 (talk) 23:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

B-Class Assesment required

[edit]

This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. Pale Riders

[edit]

If you click on the wiki page for the Pale Riders it brings you back to the same page of Age of Apocolypse. Should the Pale Riders link be taken out of this page or does someone wanna make a page for them?

Removed unsourced material

[edit]

I removed the following from the Prequels section as it has been unsourced since August 2009:

Tales From the Age of Apocalypse were intended to be one-shot giant-size issues that would chronicle a story from the past of each of the Age of Apocalypse titles. Unfortunately, they had poor reception and only two were published.

Splitting the character section

[edit]

Due to this page having a large character section, I am suggesting that we have the page split into a new page like they did for the characters in Marvel 1602 and the characters in House of M. Once we have the page created, we should rewrite the bios with full information on them like they did on the pages that I just described. Rtkat3 (talk) 10:53, April 7 2013 (UTC)

The article is currently not so large that a split is required (see WP:SPLIT). Indeed, Marvel 1602 did not need to be split either. Neither is a split required for you to tidy up the bios either. I would prefer to see the section tidied up first and then a split re-considered if you still think it is required. Op47 (talk) 21:53, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What If? Section

[edit]

Feel free to undo my action, but I felt as though the What if Section was largely unneeded. The page itself is already long as it is. This section did not have any references or verifications. I did not really see how it added anything to the page itself (most likely hearsay not fact). This is just my opinion as an English Lit major. X-Men TAS

[edit]

According to the X-Men: The Animated Series creators Eric and Julia Lewald, the animated show inspired the creation of the comic story. "For the record, @EricLewald came up with ‘One Man’s Worth’ first; the folks at Marvel really liked it and turned it into Age of Apocalypse - b/c of long lead time in animation, people think it came after Age of Apocalypse - actually, it inspired #AOA" (Source) 76.114.53.130 (talk) 21:54, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
