Picacho Stagefield

[edit]

Some web sites with lists of "strange things seen on Google Earth" include a picture of an airport and claim it's in the desert near Eloy, Arizona.[1][2] (picture #19) The runways are part of Picacho Stagefield which is a heliport located at 32°39′48″N 111°29′15″W / 32.663367°N 111.487618°W / 32.663367; -111.487618. The facility is located south of Picacho, Arizona which is a town immediately southeast of Eloy, Arizona.

http://azmemory.azlibrary.gov/cdm/ref/collection/statepubs/id/9223 says that "Picacho Stagefield, located to the west of Picacho Peak, has four helicopter landing lanes (each 1,500 feet long), an air traffic control tower, and on-site crash / rescue facilities. Picacho Stagefield is the primary location for trauma and emergency procedure training."

https://gsd.az.gov/sites/default/files/documents/files/FY14BSIReport_0.pdf says that Picacho Stagefield was constructed in 1995 and inventories a Fire Station, Air Navigation Building, a water storage tank, and a well water system as part of the facility.

http://www.denix.osd.mil/sri/upload/srr2007.pdf is the only public hit for "Picacho Stagefield" in the .mil domain says that the stagefield covers 353 acres.

Not notable

[edit]

Hi. Dominic Evans was a musician. The cite shows that. But being the member of a non-notable band doesn't make one notable. In fact, being the member of a notable band doesn't make one notable. Notability isn't inherited. Onel5969 TT me 11:34, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
