does anyone know the precise half life of Be-8? I found values ranging from 0.9 * 10^-16 to 4*10^-16 s.

On http://www.clf.rl.ac.uk/Facilities/AstraWeb/Astra%20Main%20Page.htm , I read: "Astra is a high power, ultra-short pulse Titanium-sapphire laser facility. It provides pulses of 800 nm light with 40 fs duration at energies up to 500 mJ. "

1 as = 1000 fs

Apparently, 250 as is no longer the duration of the shortest laser pulse. JL

no, 1 fs = 1000 as
