Hello Mikesegeln, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Thanks for the pictures

[edit]

Thanks for the Bjørnøya pictures, I had long been looking for some. You might wish to put one of them (t.ex. Miseryfjellet) into the Bjørnøya article as well. Although it's not too realistic a prospect right now, I am dreaming of making this a featured article some time, and good pictures are a prerequisite for that.

Did you take them yourself? You might consider uploading them to Wikimedia Commons so that others may more easily make use of them. Thanks again, Kosebamse 20:34, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I now uploaded some more pictures. I added a column "pictures". Hope yu like it, because I am not experienced with Wikipedia. Feel free to change. Pictures were all taken by myself on sailboat trips to Svalbard 2001 and 2002. Im am working on some pages about plant species on Svalbard. As sonn as I have completed some more, I like to add the species as links to the Bjoernoeya page. In future I try to upload under commons. Thanks for this help.

Saxifraga species

[edit]

Thanks for your articles on the Saxifraga species. The taxoboxes are also nearly perfect, good work for a new contributor. However for a species they should include the author reference as well - maybe you simply check what I changed in Saxifraga flagellaris. You can read the full taxobox usage guide at Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life/taxobox usage. andy 11:59, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

My compliments on your photographs. They are very beautiful. --DanielCD 16:05, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Me too! Stunning pictures! - MPF 20:58, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The natural troll

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your "natural troll" image! A beautiful picture! Your description wasn't very encyclopedic, however, so I rewrote it and moved the troll to a better place in the article. Could you please tell us where in Norway Hamnaroey is located? Google returns no hits; misspelled?

Again, thank you for your contribution. Salleman 22:20, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I uploaded your description to the image page (image:Naturaltroll1.jpg). Delete it if you disagree. Judging from the coordinates, are you sure it is not "Hamarøy", without the n? Salleman 15:57, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Licensing your pictures

[edit]

Hello! You have not stated any licence info on your uploaded photos, it would be nice if you did (because I want to use some of your pictures on nn.wiki, and we are very strict on not using photos without licensing info). Look at

to see which you can choose from (I usually use cc-by-sa-2.5 on my photos). --KRISTAGAα-ω 29 June 2005 13:14 (UTC)

Photos from Bjørnøya

[edit]

Are u photos from Bjørnøya PD or GDFL? --80.217.107.34 21:59, 12 July 2005 (UTC) They are under GDFL.[reply]

Little auk

[edit]

Hello Michael! I would like to use your beautiful pictures File:Littleauk1.jpg and File:Littleauk2.jpg in the swedish article, but unfortunately the pictures does not have a license. Can you please add the license for the pictures, and perhaps you could also upload them to Commons and include them in the Alle alle page? Thanks a lot! //Knuckles 10:16, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your help would be appreciated

[edit]

Hi Mike, I am currently requesting review for the Bjørnøya article and since you have recently edited there, I thought you might like to look into it again. Please comment at Wikipedia:Peer review/Bjørnøya/archive2, any constructive criticism would be much appreciated. Thanks. Kosebamse 22:48, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your photographs

[edit]

Thanks again for your help. I noticed that some or all of your photographs have no copyright tags. (See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. That could mean that they would eventually be removed, and I don't have to stress that that would be most unfortunate. Please consider tagging your images so that we can be sure to see them used in the future. Thanks! Kosebamse 05:53, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: Image:Kittiwake2-1.jpg

[edit]

Image:Kittiwake2-1.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Rissa tridactyla standing.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Rissa tridactyla standing.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 07:09, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
