Apparently Maria Newell is of interest in her own right, as the first unmarried woman missionary to be sent out by the LMS, but the bits on the net are pretty sparse. Interestingly, 1911EB seems to go out of its way not to mention her name. Stan 15:48, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
