Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry? The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.

Does anyone know who this town was named after?

Nope, sorry, but I'm researching it. I'll be sure to tell you when I find the origins of the name! Fuzzy

The city of Harrison Arkansas was named after a Union General by the name of Gen. M. LaRue Harrison who surveyed the townsite. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.178.74.138 (talk) 04:14, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps a separate section for the history of racism and Task Force on Race Relations?

[edit]

It can distract from those that want to learn about other history of the town having it just in the "21st century" section, and that can be helped through a new section that can give further background on the fight between both sides in the town. Argeadai (talk) 03:04, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Argeadai, what two sides? There really has been only one side in Harrison for over a century. — Jacona (talk) 15:46, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that a task force on race relations exists prove otherwise. Read the 21st century section Argeadai (talk) 04:59, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The history could be expanded especially as there is little mention of the large amounts of industry in the town. A specific section for racial history might imply that it is not a part of the main history of the town, which is not true. Any information added regarding local government action or business development would strengthen the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by E2522 (talkcontribs) 18:20, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The history section doesn't meet the criteria for a WP:SPLIT, and there is no need to add content just to "puff up" the good stuff. That would unbalance the article, per WP:UNDUE, and would deprive readers of an honest and encyclopedic impression of this city. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:52, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
