I have reworked the "hardware and electronics" line so as to include a link to Gender of connectors and fasteners; I also removed the line "The word male also figuratively means external, based on this sense." because I think it's confusing...male connectors fit inside female connectors. I'm removing the part about linguistics. I have never heard "male" used to mean "masculine" in terms of grammatical gender. --Angr/comhrá 08:44, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
