Comment

[edit]

If anyone wants to make an article about this in French, the name "Mirumo" should be used as the title; Kana is not only using the original name, but it is calling the characters by their Japanese names.

The anime in France is retitled and uses French names (e.g. Kaede becomes Camille). WhisperToMe 23:59, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a link repository. I suggest removing links, keeping only less than 10. I know little about the subject, but if nobody does, will just remove all but the official ones. -- ReyBrujo 23:53, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I let the most important links. Please, next time don't just add new links, see if they are notable enough and are useful for the article. -- ReyBrujo 02:27, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistencies of names in the article

[edit]

I noticed that there is an inconsistency in the use of names in the article. At one part, mentions the name Kyle, but later in the article, his Japanese name Kaouru is mentioned, also referring to him. You might notice it in the other names. Can anybody take a look in these inconsistencies? - 上村七美 | talk 09:49, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You aren't talking about the same guy - Setsu Yuki = Dylan Yuki and Kaoru Matsubara = Kyle Matsubara - Also, if anyone wants to make a German-language article - use "Mirmo!" with the Japanese character names (except Mirmo, of course) WhisperToMe 03:25, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll work on the consistancy of the names following the style guidelines, after cleaning up the list of character article. —Quasirandom (talk) 21:36, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From main article

[edit]

I removed the following from the Media section because it made No Sense At All there -- as in, totally incoherent without context. I'm saving it here in case after cleaning up there's a place for it. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:13, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From B Class to Start Class

[edit]

This article used to be B class! What happened?

Togepi 987 (talk) 07:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From the edit summary:
re-rating as Start class - in this confusing state, and with the gaps, it's not quite a B-class article yetQuasirandom
Right now, I don't see a Development section telling how Hiromu Shinozuka created the series or what inspired him. It is also lacking information about the anime adaptation as well, which is very briefly mentioned. The character section doesn't give me a good impression about any of who the characters are. I actually got better impressions of the characters by reading the first couple of sentences on the List of characters page then I did here. The citations also needs a lot of work. Exactly where are most of those references being used in the article? The existing Reception and Media sections should also be expanded. Perhaps the Media section should be replaced with sections on the anime, music, drama CDs, and video games, The question is, dose it have the majority of the material needed for a comprehensive article. I think it falls a short right now. --Farix (Talk) 12:41, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Farix? The Media section got spun off as a list of media article, with extensive info on all that stuff. Also, you can get an article to GA without a Development section (as long as everything else is there and solidly sourced. That's oftan the last information brought in, before taking something FAC. (That said, the article does need work, especially in bringing in more extensive summaries from the spinoff articles per WP:SS, and in citations. I just think you're overstating the case.) Togepi: All of which goes to show, it's a judgement call. Personally, I think it's on the border between Start and B, and would have been inclined to leave it B because of two spinoffs do have a lot of information. But I also wouldn't have upped it from Start if that's how I found it. —Quasirandom (talk) 14:34, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's the thing about the media section. Spinning it out took too much out of the article, which lowered the overall quality of the article. Besides, I tend to dislike list of media articles as they tend to be highly disorganized and don't explain much of anything. Some of the information needs to be added back in to bring the article back up to B-class. My statements about lacking a development section was simply pointing out one of the more obvious gaps in the article. Even with the media section the way it is, having this section would also bring it up to B-class, IMO. I also pointed out other areas that need improvement and would aid in bringing the article up to B-class as well, namely the poorly written character section. --Farix (Talk) 14:54, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not disagreeing about that. Just noting that, there's room for interpretation of the (deliberately?) vague guidelines. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:52, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(I kinda agree about lists of media. I've been coming to the conclusion that it's often better to have separate lists for each medium that needs spinning out.) —Quasirandom (talk) 20:04, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do a little research on Mirmo, going to places like Absolute Anime or ANN. When i'm done, we can bring Mirmo back up to B or even GA like Sailor Moon. I like video games and anime. 02:13, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Togepi 987 (talk) 00:19, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Go for it. —Quasirandom (talk) 04:08, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yesterday, I tried to make an episode list, but it was too complicated and there were problems with the episode titles. Oh well....Togepi 987 (talk) 00:19, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You mean a new list of episodes? Because there already is one, which could use expansion with broadcast dates, Japanese titles, and so on. —Quasirandom (talk) 00:29, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I, have a plan. Take a lot of things into the Media section and add a Development section. If all goes well, Mirmo will be back up to B and even GA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Togepi 987 (talkcontribs) 05:38, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Titles

[edit]
Moved from Talk:List of Mirmo! media

Someone needs to explain the Golden / Wonderful / Charming titles, and their relationship to the seasons. —Quasirandom (talk) 17:19, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Media list

[edit]

I've remerged the List of Mirmo! media back into this article where it belongs, dropping the stuff that never belongs (cast lists, lists of CD singles, etc). None of it was sourced, and quite a bit needs to be fixed to be written as prose with actual relevant information (like release dates), rather than just a list of titles. I also did not keep the anime episode lists as it was, quite frankly, useless when it consisted of nothing but the titles and some OR "characters emphasized" stuff. It would be better to just redo the list properly from scratch, properly formatted with the Japanese kanji/romanji titles, English titles, and airdates (oh, and references :P). Licensing discrepancy

[edit]

On this article it states that the series is currently licensed by Viz Media, however on the page on Viz Media it is listed as formerly licensed rather than currently licensed. Any chance this discrepancy can be corrected? Also is it not worth mentioning that thus far no english dub of the anime has actually been released?
