Should this be at AQAL? RickK 19:52, Jul 21, 2004 (UTC)

According to Ken Wilber#AQAL, yes; there's also a lot more info on that page than there is here. -- Hadal 19:55, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Disambiguation of "perspective"

[edit]

I've removed the link to the disambiguation page, but I am not convinced "visual" is the intended target. I have, in truth, little concept of what this page is trying to tell me. Feel free to correct the redirect - JUST NOT BACK TO THE DISAMBIGUATION PAGE.LeeG 23:38, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize that the article is unclear. I would appreciate any more specific criticisms that you could offer. I changed the link to cognitive perspective. — goethean 14:51, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Theory of truth

[edit]

Wilber's example question given for the upper left quadrant "interior individual" does not serve well: When I tell you it is raining outside, am I telling you the truth or am I lying? This statement can be tested, and so does not reveal the subjective nature of interior experience. A better question would be "When I tell you I am in pain, am I telling the truth or lying?" which demonstrates that the interior state is not strictly accessible to other observers. --Blainster 20:08, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Critique

[edit]

Wilber's theory of four quadrants is week in that it leaves out one aspect. Martin Buber speaks about "I-Thou" as the basis of a morality of equals. One could argue that the instrumental value "I-It" is transformed through the recognition of the personhood of the Thou, before the coming of a common understanding "I-We". This is important as it is the basis of Deep Ecology, in the development of what has been called "The Ecological Self". In fact the whole article reads like an apologestics for Wilber at present. It's better to use diagrams to explain AQAL

Also, any description of the application of AQAL is appreciated

I have found some, however the publications from academic journals are preferred

Notability?

[edit]

Does the topic of this article satisfy WP:N, which requires that the subject has "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject"? As it stands, the article does not seem to assert its own notability. Fireplace 04:47, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
