I think this discussion should be moved to the project pages and deleted from here. Maybe the authors agree?

Move (part 1)

[edit]

This should probably be moved to "Doppelgängland (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)" in keeping with the other episodes, but again, even though I am logged in, Wiki won't let me. Argh. Wolf Deunan 23:01, Jun 27, 2004 (UTC)

It's now listed at requested moves. Some admin will take care of it in a few days' time. grendel|khan 20:51, 2005 Mar 22 (UTC)
Done, didn't need an admin, don't know what went wrong for you. HTH HAND --Phil | Talk 12:53, Mar 23, 2005 (UTC)
Um, I'm not showing it as having moved. Also, to be consistent with others on the List of Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes, the appropriate place to move this is to "Doppelgängland (Buffy episode)". That's how the other episodes are named. Not, that is to say "Doppelgängland (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)" as suggested above. I'm new, though, and don't know what to do in this circumstance.--Zero37 13:12, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
No, the convention is to keep the names simple. I can't find the policy page to that effect, but we don't create a disambiguated page unless there's a reason to. See the naming conventions for albums, for an example. Generally, we refer to things by the shortest unambiguous name. So "Anne", the S3 premiere, should stay where it is, but unless there's already a [[Foo]] page, there's no reason to create [[Foo (Buffy episode)]]. grendel|khan 17:19, 2005 Mar 23 (UTC)

All the links into the article were using the correct (Doppelgängland (Buffy episode)) form as per project/whedon guidelines - only ones not were user & talk pages which are effectively 'historic'. As such I was bold and did the move rather than have all these multiple redirects floating around. --Vamp:Willow 20:14, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

Not to be too picky, but is this episode really titled "Doppelgängland", or is it just "Doppelgangland" (i.e., does the "a" really have an umlaut)? I realize the title is derived from the umlauted German word, but that doesn't mean we can disregard what the creators of the work called it. Can someone check a published source (e.g., a script book, the DVD set) to verify which is correct? — Jeff Q (talk) 00:27, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Well, I just checked the PAL DVD, the English title is "Doppelgangland", not "Doppelgängland". I changed all the text but couldn't rename the article because it already existed. Prime Blue (talk) 15:42, 10 Jul 2007 (GMT)

Quote

[edit]

The text says "quoted from the DVD edition," but I just checked the DVD, and both the audio track and the subtitles say, "the person it was," not "he." So I fixed that. Exabit 09:30, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What's the "arc significance" of the mourning scene? —Tamfang 01:38, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IRRELEVANT

[edit]

The physical attraction that Vamp Willow shows towards Willow resembles much the same narcissistic attraction that bisexual doppelgänger of Kira Nerys, the Intendent, shows towards Kira, in episode "Crossover" of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Nothing whatsoever to do with Buffy. Sensationalist trivia. Removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.141.211.24 (talk) 21:49, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Buffy316.jpg

[edit]

Image:Buffy316.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A Head's Up

[edit]

Overly long detailed summaries violate copyright. I know, I can always put the plot tag but I think this makes it a bit clearer. Lots42 (talk) 22:57, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sandy

[edit]

This episode marks the first appearance of Sandy, as the scared girl in The Bronze, who eventually becomes the vampire who bites Riley in season five. Anyone else consider this notable for the Arc signifigance? 124.184.179.247 (talk) 09:22, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actors in three series?

[edit]

One of the trivia items is:

  • Andy Umberger, the actor portraying D'Hoffryn, is one of only five actors to appear in three of Joss Whedon's shows: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly.

Just out of curiosity--who are the other four? I ask because this item may need updating--Eliza Dushku has appeared in three series (Buffy, Angel, and Dollhouse). Or was that counted already? -- Narsil (talk) 06:02, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I only know of one, Jonathan M. Woodward: he played the vampire in "Conversations with Dead People", Tracey in "The Message (Firefly)", and Knox at Wolfram & Hart in the last season of Angel. —Tamfang (talk) 19:35, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

storming off

[edit]
When Willow storms off, she says "Buffy I'm storming off here, it doesn't really work if you come with me" which is what Oz said to her in a previous episode, right before he turned into a werewolf.

I have a memory of Oz saying something similar, but can't find it in the scripts. (I grepped for storming, come with me, go with me, come too, you go too.) —Tamfang (talk) 19:39, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the episode Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered, Oz is about to go off to be upset because they think it may have been he who ate the guy in the woods, Willow stops him. He says something about doing the "guy thing" and apologizes for having to do it, Willow says she wants him to do it, but then she points to the clock, because she's stopped him due to sundown being imminent. Is this what you were thinking of?--TEHodson 21:23, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed that section from the article; it's not accurate (see above) and is trivial in any case.--TEHodson 21:29, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
